Decision-making basis for strategic investments in plant capacities

Data-driven evaluation and implementation to streamline capacity levels

In the course of strategic investment decisions, it is of enormous importance to put them on a solid basis. Nothing is less useful than investing in unnecessary assets, an unbalanced assessment of future capacity utilisation or the simple disregard of complex asset relationships.

Strategic capacity simulation: planning with fictitious capacities

Whereas in operational-tactical planning the planning process is solely done within given resources, in strategic capacity simulation, in turn, the resources can also be varied, e.g. in order to simulate capacity expansions, but also their reductions. For this purpose, the solution for strategic capacity simulation within ORSOFT Enterprise Workbench supports through

  • simulative creation of additional resources / workplaces
  • simulative changing of the available capacities
  • simulative blocking of existing resources
  • simulative modification of existing work plans, e.g. by adding created additional resources as alternative production versions
  • planning while using the added capacities

With the ORSOFT solution, the simulated capacity modifications that are rated to be good can thus be processed with real SAP master data.
