Digital cutting optimization: reaching cost-cuttings in production and improvements in planning reliability

Some of the major goals of CTP (capable to promise) are meeting deadlines and reducing production costs. ln line with cutting optimization, additional objectives may be included to the CTP run, such as

• the reduction of cutting costs,
• reduction of waste (material value),
• reduction of the cutting time and
• the consideration and prioritisation of available batches based on their product ageing.

These and further influencing factors – weighted differently as to be required and defined – are combined to form a total cost function, which forms the basis for optimising the planning result. As a direct effect, production costs are reduced and planning reliability in production is increased.
